Internationally Known Organist to Perform at Hartford Church
DETROIT, Sept. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Thomas Dahl, acclaimed organist from Hauptkirche St. Petri, Hamburg, Germany, will present a concert on Friday, October 27, 2006, at the Hartford Memorial Baptist Church. Hartford is celebrating 18 years with the beautiful 60-stop Petty Madden Pipe Organ especially built for the church by Bynam Petty of New Jersey. The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. and is free of charge.
Mr. Dahl will perform works by Bach, Buxtehude, Vierne and will do an improvisation on the spot. He is the winner of the 1995 International Improvisation Competition in Knokke/Heist, Belgium. In addition to being the Director of Music at the Hauptkirche, he is also the conductor of the Hamburg Bach Choir.
Hartford Church is located at 18700 James Couzens Highway, on the East Service Drive of the Lodge Freeway, one block south of the Lodge 7 Mile Exit. There is secure, lighted, free parking adjacent to the church. For more information please call 313.861.1300.
