CPB Names Greg Diefenbach Senior Vice President for Television Programming

WASHINGTON, Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) today named veteran television producer Greg Diefenbach senior vice president for television programming. In this position, he will oversee and manage CPB's national public television programming initiatives.
Diefenbach is the founder and president of Diefenbach Media, where he worked with producers, broadcasters and distributors to develop, finance and produce high-end factual television specials. Previously, he worked at Devillier Donegan Enterprises from 1996 through 2005, where he rose from director of development to senior vice president, production & development. At Devillier Donegan, Diefenbach created and executive produced over 100 hours of event specials and series, including the long-running historical strand "Empires," which generated high ratings for PBS. His work has earned numerous awards including the Emmy and the Peabody.

In addition, CPB announced the promotion of John Prizer to senior advisor to the president, television programming special projects. This represents an expansion of Prizer's duties as vice president of television program development.

"He has been instrumental in CPB's moving forward on two signal initiatives: the 'America at a Crossroads' series, which will air on PBS in the spring of 2007, and our 'American History & Civics Initiative.'
