Bloomberg TV the Only Pan-European Channel With Increase in Weekly Audience, Says EBRS
NEW YORK and LONDON, Sept. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Bloomberg, the leading global provider of data, analytics and news to the business and financial community, today announced that daily viewership of its BLOOMBERG TELEVISION(R) Pan-European service expanded by 48% during the past 12 months, according to the IPSOS European Business Readership Survey ("EBRS") 2006 released this week. EBRS 2006 found that BLOOMBERG TELEVISION out-performs all other Pan-European business and financial news channels in both total daily audience and increase in weekly audience. Bloomberg's 68.1% net share of daily audience reflects a 48% increase in daily audience reach from the previous year, and is more than double number 2-ranked CNBC's 31.9% share.
Among all print, internet and broadcast media measured in the study, BLOOMBERG TELEVISION ranked 4th in delivering Pan-European media to C-Level corporate officers, behind only Financial Times, CNN and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, and 5th in importance for business leaders in the FT Top 500 companies, behind only Financial Times, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, The Economist and Harvard Business Review.
The biennial survey conducted by IPSOS is the 16th edition in the EBRS series, first published in 1973. EBRS measures the media consumption of the most influential decision makers in Europe. EBRS 2006 covers the following 17 European countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and UK.
