Edgar & Ellen Cause More Chaos in Six New Television Specials on Nicktoons Network

The First of Six Half-Hour Specials, 'Accept No Substitutes,' Premieres Saturday, September 2 at 8:30 p.m. (ET)

NEW YORK, Aug. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Nicktoons Network, Nickelodeon's 24-hour animation network, will premiere six new half-hour specials of Edgar & Ellen, the animated tales of mischievous twins that originated as short form programming on the network. The first of these specials, "Accept No Substitutes," will coincide with the back-to-school season and will premiere Saturday, September 2 at 8:30 p.m. (ET). The second special, the Halloween-themed "Trick or Twins," will premiere in October during the Nicktoons Network "Scare-A-Thon." "Cold Medalists" will premiere Winter 2006, and the remaining three specials will roll out in 2007.

The Edgar & Ellen series follows twelve-year-old twins, Edgar and Ellen, who like to cause mischief and mayhem in their sticky but sweet town of Nod's Limbs, an idyllic community of kindly townsfolk. The twins stick out like sore thumbs as they wreak havoc upon the goody-goody inhabitants with their pranks. Inevitably, their plans always backfire.

Also available in a six-book series, Edgar & Ellen combines the influences of Edgar Allan Poe and Edward Gorey's art style in humorous stories. The tales follow the twins' adventures as they explore the history of their towering mansion, develop relationships with their creepy caretaker, Heimertz, and their strange, one-eyed pet, Pet, and discover dozens of juicy secrets about their seemingly perfect town.

Dr. McStern, the only teacher Edgar and Ellen really like, loses his job
thanks to the sneaky sabotage of Stephanie Knightleigh! The twins race
against time, their nemesis and their devious new teacher, Miss Cobbler,
to prove McStern's innocence and save themselves from a school year of
torment!

What house could be spookier for Halloween than Edgar and Ellen's
13-story Tower Mansion? On Halloween night, the twins steer the kids of
Nod's Limbs to their house of horrors to prove they are the masters of
the macabre, only to find out that one of Edgar's experiments has done
something truly monstrous to Ellen's carnivorous plant, Berenice.

* "Cold Medalists" premieres Winter 2006
Though they set out to sabotage their own town, Edgar and Ellen
begrudgingly team up with their nemesis, Stephanie Knightleigh, in the
Nod's O-Limb-pics Winter Games. Together, they must defeat the rotten
team from Smelterburg, bring the trophy to Nod's Limbs, and save their
beloved sewers.

* "Crushed" premieres early 2007
It's springtime in Nod's Limbs, and love is in the air (okay, so love is
always in the air in this town), but the mischievous twins refuse to
breathe the rotten stench of romance. Suddenly, Edgar falls head over
heels for the new girl in town, Ellen must find a way to split up the
lovebirds and save her brother from a crushing heartbreak.

* "Nobody's Fools" Spring 2007
Nod's Limbs' annual All Fools' Day celebration has arrived and Edgar and
Ellen have big plans for the sweet fools of their town. But when a
sinister hypnotist swings into town and bends everyone to his will, the
twins, Stephanie, and Pet are the only ones clever enough to escape the
enchantment. If they want to turn the tables on this crafty con man,
Edgar and Ellen may have to sacrifice every prank in their arsenal.

* "Frog Days of Summer" premieres Summer 2007
Nod's Limbs' Dismal Swamp is the twins' favorite summer getaway, a home
to all things creepy, crawly and deliciously fun! So when Mayor
Knightleigh and Stephanie plan to destroy the swamp to make way for a
corny theme park, Edgar and Ellen will stop at nothing to save their
