Taste Why the Garden State is Great for the Grape! Celebrate the Harvest with Holiday Weekend Wine & Jazz Festival
STANHOPE, N.J., Aug. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- New Jersey, the country's 5th largest wine-producing state, will be a sipping and swirling sensation with an exciting festival for wine lovers and their families. Kicking off the harvest season for vineyards across the state, the Garden State Wine Growers Association's "Jazz it Up" Wine Festival will take place on September 2 & 3 from noon to 5:00 p.m. at Waterloo Village, 525 Waterloo Road, Stanhope, NJ. Admission is $18 for adults and includes wine tasting, a wine glass and admission to the restored village, $10 for ages 16-20 (admission to the restored village), under 16 free.
This is the season when the wineries have their new wines bottled and ready for tasting. As many as 18 wineries will participate, with wines to sample and purchase. Sing and dance to great music, browse the craft vendors' displays and the classic and antique car displays, purchase gourmet food, take the kids to the expanded "Kids Zone" or visit the restored Lenape Village. Saturday's jazz will be provided by the Eric Mintel Quartet as well as Simon Apple. The Eric Mintel Quartet returns Sunday and is joined by the Gary Rissmiller Quartet.
Waterloo Village is a National Registered Historic Site located in Allamuchy Mountain State Park. Just 1 hour west of NYC; 30 minutes east of the Poconos and 2 hours north of Philadelphia, simply take Interstate 80 in New Jersey to Exit 25.
