"We are very excited about '3D Rain Environment,'" says Chamber. "I started recording three years ago all over California. I wanted to make sure to get rain drops hitting sand, puddles, leaves, grass, tall trees ... "
A pioneer in this production technique, over the past 18 months Darwin Chamber has differentiated himself from the competition. Like an artist painting his canvas, he places real natural sound sequences as his background and layers it with other raw sounds found in that environment. At the end, the finished digitized track puts the listener at the scene of the recording unlike anything else available.
"I trick your ear into believing that sound is hitting it from unusual angles and from different areas, not like what you experience with a normal flat wall of sound from a TV," said Chamber. "Try it on your iPod using headphones, it's amazing!"
3D audio has been around since the mid-70s but only a handful of people know the technical process of actually rendering the sound. Darwin Chamber is one of them. His 3D environments have gained so much popularity that a number of his albums have hit #1 on iTunes charts. Some of his other 3D albums include 3D Rainforest Environment, 3D Thunderstorm Environment, and 3D Songbird Environment.
Demonstrating his passion for his craft, Darwin Chamber recently moved to Princeville, Kauai to record sounds from the Hawaiian Islands. He will be visiting each of the islands to capture waterfalls, rain, the ocean, volcanoes, and birds (1/3 of all bird species are accessible on Kauai).
While in Hawaii some of Darwin Chambers' environment audio will be featured at Hawaii 2050, an environmentally conscious event put together by the world renowned Hawaii Research Center for Futures Studies. Attendees will experience and participate in several alternative futures for Hawaii as if in 2050 to get a better understanding of the path they are currently on and the path that needs to be taken.
Currently Darwin Chamber is signed to Serwin Music Group.
