WEGENER Awarded Three Patents for Video Distribution and Network Monitoring
DULUTH, Ga., June 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Wegener Corporation (NASDAQ:WGNR), a leading provider of products for television, audio and data distribution networks worldwide, today announced it has been awarded three U.S. patents. The patents cover systems and methods for recasting DVB video broadcasts, return path network monitoring technology and multiple authorizations of data through a single encryption mechanism.
US patent 7,032,235 describes ways to control and configure remote devices to recast live and stored DVB signals over local area networks (LANs). It describes key intellectual property that provides ways to control highly differentiated outputs for retail video displays, corporate communications and training networks that use a combination of satellite and local streaming distribution methods. File-based content provides localization to the stream.
US patent 7,020,689 describes the system and method for command transmission utilizing an email return path. This deployed technology provides network operators the ability to browse status reports sent in by unattended satellite receivers at remote locations using internet-capable, firewall-protected LANs.
US patent 7,062,048 describes the apparatus and method for controlling multiple authorizations of distributed content data through a single encryption engine. It details a per-channel-authorization scheme for a multiplex of video, audio and data, while transmitting the minimum amount of encryption keys.
"Our clients operate dynamic multi-site networks and it is WEGENER's goal to continually produce innovations that optimize these networks," stated Ned Mountain, COO and President of WEGENER. "Our talented engineering staff have developed patented technology for linear and file-based broadcasting that enables maximum on-air time and return on investment on every unique broadcast signal."
