Slim Devices to Showcase Great Live Music Each Month

Slim Devices to Showcase Great Live Music Each Month

Focusing on a Classic Concert and Artist With Guest Internet Radio Stations

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., June 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Slim Devices, makers of the Squeezebox(TM), the leading wireless streaming audio player, announced the first 'Slim Showcase.' Each month Slim Devices will focus on a classic concert by one of the greats of popular music -- starting with The Grateful Dead's September 1972 Providence, RI concert. As part of the celebration, Slim Devices has partnered with Radioio, a leading provider of DJ driven internet radio stations. The webcaster's radioioDead station (http://www.radioio.com/radioiodead.php) will be featured in Slim Devices collection of Internet radio services available free to every Squeezebox owner. The station will feature special content and competitions to win Squeezebox music players. Slim Devices and Radioio will also jointly issue a t-shirt featuring artwork from the 1972 concert poster.

This month-long celebration of The Dead and their live experience is the first of an ongoing series called 'Slim Showcases.' Future months will feature the works and concerts of artists ranging from Jazz to Rock, from the 40's to the 00's. The aim is to use today's technology to deliver the best of all music from all era's regardless of location or age. Of course, the Grateful Dead were the perfect starting point for a company based in the San Francisco Bay Area like Slim Devices.

"Not everyone will have been to the best gigs in history," said Patrick Cosson, VP Sales and Marketing at Slim Devices. "However, with a Squeezebox, you can access these great performances through the wonders of Internet Radio. It's a great way to explore stunning music you may have missed due to time or geography."

"Radioio caters to a wide range of listening tastes with great DJ selected content, but sometimes it's cool to help our listeners explore a little," commented Mike Roe, radioio Founder. "We have a fantastic pool of music and DJ's from all across the US, so it's understandable when people find a favorite station and stick with it. Slim Showcase is just a way of tempting listeners to dip into something different knowing it represents a great example of the music of that artist or era."
