BTi Provides Broadcasters with Missing Link for Automated Branding and Promotions Operations

BTi Provides Broadcasters with Missing Link for Automated Branding and Promotions Operations

Innovators like Astral Television Networks Turn to New Branding & Promotions Attendant Software to Increase Brand Identity with Minimal Production Time

FRANKLIN, Tenn., June 13 /PRNewswire/ -- BTi, Inc. a leading provider of automated broadcast graphics applications, today introduced Branding & Promotions Attendant (BPA), a highly automated software package that enables broadcasters to efficiently insert branding, promotional graphics, effects, video and live data into their program stream using any combination of character generator (CG), traffic and automation system.

Astral Television Networks tested the system for TELETOON and the Family Channel, using BPA to integrate its Avid DekoCast CGs, BroadView traffic and Encoda automation systems. The solution has been on air since January 2006, delivering increasingly sophisticated branding and promotion elements.

"BTi Branding & Promotions is great because it allowed us to fully exploit the potential of our existing graphics, traffic and automation systems, without making any major infrastructure changes," said Chris Bell, Vice President of Technology for Astral Television Networks. "We can now leverage our brands without greatly increasing production costs by utilizing elements filled with dynamic, self updating content. With BPA, we now have access to many more creative options that will allow us to engage and retain viewers."

For TELETOON and The Family Channel, Astral Television Networks wanted to give its design department direct control over its branding. The BPA workflow was an ideal fit. Operators create BPA templates describing the layout of interstitial branding and promotions. These templates can then be automatically filled via automation and traffic with associated effects, clips and/or audio. The BPA system provides the team with precise control over all elements, enabling operators can also override the content offline, without touching a character generator, or nonlinear editing system.

BTi President Jay Wasack said, "The team at TELETOON and the Family Channel have seized on an opportunity to increase the integration between their systems and achieve maximum control over their brand equity. BPA enables broadcasters to make the most of a busy promotions schedule to maximize station brand awareness and increase promotions sales, all using minimal operational resources."

Since 1994, BTi has been focused on helping broadcasters find effective, efficient ways of acquiring data and delivering it on-air as part of a complete graphics package. More than one hundred stations in many of the top DMAs in the United States rely on BTi to streamline the on air graphics operations for News, Sports, School Closings, Elections, EAS, Amber Alert, Branding & Promotions, as well as Public, Education, Government.
