The Randy Shaver Prep Sports Extra Will Return to Air for 24th Season

MINNEAPOLIS, June 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The Randy Shaver Prep Sports Extra will be broadcast locally on KMWB-TV next fall. The thirty-minute show will debut September 1st. The live broadcast, a production of KARE 11 News Sports, will air Friday nights at 11:00 p.m. The show will also be Web cast on http://kare11.com/prep .

"Prep sports fans have told us they want our Friday night highlights on TV and we heard them," said Randy Shaver. Fans will also have the opportunity to watch the show on kare11.com, streamed live on Friday night or anytime during the week. "On the Web, friends and relatives will be able to watch the highlights from anywhere in the world," Shaver added.

"The Randy Shaver Prep Sports Extra is a great program for our prep athletes, families and fans," said John Remes, president and general manager of KARE 11. "Nobody does Friday night highlights better than Randy Shaver," he added.

"Our agreement with NBC restricts us from broadcast time on KARE 11 Friday nights for a special show. Going to KMWB and putting the show on kare11.com/prep will give our viewers time to see more highlights than we could ever put in the news," said Remes.

KMWB, also known as "The WB Minnesota" is an affiliate of the Warner Brothers network. Its Twin cities over-the-air position is Channel 23. Its channel position on cable and direct satellite varies.
