KARE 11 News Awarded Two Edward R. Murrow Awards
MINNEAPOLIS, June 22 /PRNewswire/ -- KARE 11 News is the recipient of two national Edward R. Murrow Awards from the Radio-Television News Directors Association. The announcement was made this week at RTNDA headquarters in Washington D.C.
The awards were for Sports Reporting (Randy Shaver and Brad Hadsall) and Writing (Joe Fryer). Shaver and Hadsall were honored for a story titled Kid Wrestlers. Joe Fryer was recognized for a compilation of several stories produced with various KARE 11 photojournalists.
"The great thing about these awards is that they represent a station-wide commitment to quality even if they have individual names attached," said Tom Lindner, KARE 11 Vice President/News Director. "National recognition is nice -- it's a moment when we can feel good about what we do. Then we get right back to work," he added.
