Hosted by Comedian Extraordinaire Damon Wayans, the '06 BET AWARDS Will Showcase Chart-Topping Performances, A-List Presenters and Heartfelt Tributes

BET will honor an array of extraordinary achievement in music, film and sports with a star-studded "live" telecast of BET AWARDS '06. The top-rated and most-watched awards show among African-American viewers, the BET AWARDS will be anchored by Hollywood funny man Damon Wayans. The show format includes glitzy red carpet arrivals, explosive show performances, and riveting tributes by the hottest names in entertainment at the Shrine Auditorium.

The galaxy of stars that will be a part of the BET AWARDS includes: host Damon Wayans, performers Beyonce, Prince, Jamie Foxx, Mary J. Blige, T.I., Keyshia Cole, Busta Rhymes, Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Mary Mary, and a few surprises! Among the scheduled presenters are: actress Vivica A. Fox, hip hop hit-makers OutKast, Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg; actors/filmmakers Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans; NFL rookie quarterback Vince Young; BET's Big Tigger; new R&B sensation Rhianna; comedian/syndicated radio host Steve Harvey and a trio of old school sitcom favorites, Jimmie Walker, Bernadette Stanis and Ralph Carter from "Good Times," along with Lifetime Achievement Award winner Chaka Khan, and BET Humanitarian Award recipient Harry Belafonte.
