SANTA MONICA, Calif., May 30 /PRNewswire/ -- World Championship Sports Network (WCSN), devoted to televising premier international sports competitions from around the world, will deliver exclusive coverage of one of the biggest track and field events of the year by offering U.S. viewers same- day live and delayed coverage of the 2006 IAAF Golden League meetings online beginning June 2 at 2:00 p.m. (EDT) from Oslo, Norway.

WCSN will also telecast other IAAF Golden League meetings from Paris, France (July 8), Rome, Italy (July 14), Zurich, Switzerland (Aug. 18), Brussels, Belgium (Aug. 25) and Berlin, Germany (Sept. 3).

"All eyes will be on the IAAF Golden League, the highest stage in all track and field competitions, especially with Justin Gatlin's recent nail biting performance in Doha," said Carlos Silva, president and COO of WCSN. "We are very delighted to partner with IAAF and bring these athletes' quest for the sport's highest honor to our North American audience."

The IAAF Golden League is an annual series of the most prestigious athletic meetings across Europe sanctioned by the International Association of Athletics Federation, IAAF. It consists of six one-day meetings from June through September, which is attended by the elite athletes from around the world.

This year there are eleven designated IAAF Golden League Jackpot events, and athletes who win at any five of the six meetings will share a prize of $500,000, while an additional $500,000 is on offer to be shared by athletes who succeed in winning their event at all six meetings.

"Since its launch in 1998, the IAAF Golden League has provided spectacular action, including plenty of world records," said IAAF President Lamine Diack.

"But this year, we have an outdoor season without an individual global outdoor championship so the Golden League takes on an even greater importance to the world's best athletes. In world terms, the Golden League this summer will be the peak of most athletes' seasons. We also have a new Jackpot this year which gives more opportunities for athletes to share in the one million dollar prize which will in turn make the Golden League even more attractive to the public."
