Phil Hendrie Invites Celebrities to Play Poker and Help Homeless Youth
HOLLYWOOD, Calif., May 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Radio Personality, Phil Hendrie and AM 570 are hosting a celebrity studded poker tournament to benefit My Friend's Place, a nonprofit resource center for homeless youth located in Hollywood, CA. The Tournament will be held on May 27, 2006 at The Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens, CA. To pre-register for the event, visit The Bicycle Casino's website at www.thebike.com/tournaments. On-site registration will begin at 2 PM day of the event, with the Tournament beginning promptly at 4:15 PM.
Celebrities confirmed to play in the tournament include: Phil Hendrie (host, AM 570's "The Phil Hendrie Show" and NBC's "Teachers"), Ryan Stiles (actor/comedian, ABC's "The Drew Carey Show" and "Whose Line is it Anyway"), Christopher Titus (actor/comedian, Fox's "Titus"), Eric Millegan (actor, Fox's "Bones"), and Nicholas Gonzalez (actor, Fox's "The O.C." and NBC's "Law and Order: Special Victim's Unit"). Additional celebrity players will be announced as they are confirmed.
For the past 10 years, Hendrie has been actively involved with My Friend's Place by sitting on its Board of Directors, and donating all proceeds from the sales of his annual "Best of" CD.
As a result of Hendrie's generosity and on-air advocacy, revenues from CD sales have funded over 350,000 hot meals for abused, abandoned, and neglected children living on the streets of Los Angeles. Hendrie is also responsible for compelling hundreds fans to become volunteers at My Friend's Place and for raising national awareness about the suffering of homeless youth.

Founded in 1988, My Friend's Place serves over 1,000 homeless youth and their children each year with emergency resources such as food and clothing in combination with free health, therapeutic, and educational services.
