Instructions to Members of the Media Covering Bono Appearance at Economic Club of Grand Rapids May 4 Annual Dinner

The following information is intended for registered members of the media who plan to cover the Economic Club of Grand Rapids' 19th Annual Dinner. Please note there are strict guidelines for media participation at this event.

* A pool arrangement will be observed. Bono will NOT be available for media interviews as part of his Grand Rapids visit. Only designated portions of his appearance will be available for audio or video taping. No live coverage or complete re-broadcast of his appearance will be permitted.

What: Economic Club of Grand Rapids, 19th Annual Dinner
Guest speaker: Bono, co-founder of DATA (Debt, AIDS, Trade, Africa), lead
singer of Irish rock band U2

When: Thursday, May 4

Where: DeVos Place Convention Center, 303 Monroe, Grand Rapids, Mich.

Press Room:

A press room will be available in the Ballroom Show Office on the second floor above the Welsh Lobby. Reporters will be asked to present their credentials and sign in at the media welcome table. Internet access and a television monitor for observing the Annual Dinner proceedings will be available.

Photo Pool Arrangements:

Associated Press (A.P.) will serve as the designated pool photographer. No other media photographers will be granted access to the dinner facilities.

Broadcast Pool:

Broadcast media will have access to the media room. A live feed of approved portions of the dinner proceedings will be made available by WOOD TV8 in the press room. All necessary plug-ins will be provided. Please call Patrick Kane at Lambert, Edwards & Associates to discuss pool participation, including parking.

Additional Media Ops:

6:00 - 7:15 p.m.
* Exterior/lobby shots - guests will begin to arrive at approximately
6 p.m.

10:00 p.m.
* Exterior/lobby shots - guests depart.
