Outdoor Channel Holdings Provides Update on Aggressive Campaign to Support Subscriber Growth
- The Outdoor Channel's Estimated Subscriber Base Increases by One Million in First Quarter -
TEMECULA, Calif., April 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Outdoor Channel Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:OUTD) today said that as part of the company's strategic plan to support continued subscriber growth, The Outdoor Channel conducted an aggressive campaign during the first quarter, which included full-page newspaper ads in targeted regions and the launch of www.IWantMyOutdoorChannel.com. This campaign, along with other ongoing efforts related to carriage agreement negotiations, are expected to result in additional first quarter expenses of approximately $750,000.
The company said that the Channel's subscriber base, as estimated by Nielsen Media Research, continued to grow throughout the first quarter, up by one million from December 2005 levels, reaching 26.7 million homes for April 2006.
