NOGGIN Announces New National Literacy Campaign, 'Get Ready To Read' and
Partners with First Book and Time Warner Cable to Generate Books for At-Risk
Children
WHO / WHAT: NOGGIN, First Book and Time Warner Cable team up for NOGGIN's
"Get Ready To Read Challenge" to help generate one million
books for at-risk children. NOGGIN to announce early literacy
campaign and celebrate the launch of the new series, Pinky
Dinky Doo.
The three-tiered event will include:
* Storytime: Author and series creator Jim Jinkins reads a
Pinky Dinky Doo story to preschoolers in need from New
York's PS111.
* Speed Read Challenge: Celebrities compete in "speed reads"
for charity as NOGGIN pledges books to local preschools in
partnership with First Book, for every word read during
each 15 second turn.
* "Sneak Peek" Screening: The preschoolers from PS111 will be
the first to see NOGGIN's new series Pinky Dinky Doo.
Pinky Dinky Doo, NOGGIN's first original series dedicated to
enhancing early literacy, is based on the popular book series
by Jim Jinkins (Doug and PB&J Otter). The series will debut on
NOGGIN with a simulcast on sister network Nick Jr. on Monday,
April 10 (12:00 p.m. - 12:30 p.m., ET/PT).
