NEW YORK, and LAS VEGAS, April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- The Orchard, the world's leading distributor and marketer of independent music, today at CTIA announced a deal with Infospace that will make mastertones from The Orchard's 800,000-track catalogue available to Infospace's mobile partners, including Cingular, Virgin Mobile US and T-Mobile, among others. Infospace is a leading provider and publisher of mobile content and applications in North America.
This agreement extends The Orchard's mobile reach to 85 million new mobile subscribers, solidifying its industry position as the No. 1 provider of independent content to global carriers.
The Orchard is the first major independent music distributor to provide tones to Infospace's mobile partners. As part of the relationship, The Orchard will maintain direct marketing relationships with each of Infospace's key carrier partners, in order to develop promotions that target each mobile operator's audience, as well as develop exclusive offerings from The Orchard's cadre of popular artists creating mobile-only music on a regular basis.
