KARE 11 News High Definition Launch Set for Thursday

MINNEAPOLIS, April 25 /PRNewswire/ -- KARE 11 News is about to become the first local news program in Minnesota broadcast in High Definition (HDTV).

"Our viewers deserve the best possible product from us and HDTV is the best there is," said John Remes, President and General Manager of KARE 11. "We have invested a lot of effort to get ready for high def. We've installed new equipment throughout the station and built our first completely new set in fifteen years," he added.

The changeover at KARE 11 is scheduled for the 5 p.m. news on Thursday. Viewers with HDTV sets will experience the greatest change. But other viewers will also see a difference.
