Court TV News(SM) Announces Anchor Deal With Former CNN Correspondent and International Journalist Adaora Udoji

NEW YORK, April 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Court TV News, the network of record for legal news and trial coverage, has signed award-winning international and legal journalist, Adaora Udoji to the network's on-air team, it was announced today by Marlene Dann, Executive Vice President, Court TV News. Udoji, who holds a law degree, will serve primarily as an anchor for the network's hourly news updates and will also function as a trial coverage correspondent.

Udoji previously served as a general news correspondent for CNN Worldwide based in New York City since December 2003. She has covered a wide range of stories for the network, including Hurricane Katrina from New Orleans beginning the day it made landfall, the Terri Schiavo case, Martha Stewart's criminal trial, the gay marriage debate, and the 2004 presidential election from the crucial swing state of Ohio.

Prior to that, Udoji was an international correspondent for ABC News based in London, reporting and producing international stories covering Africa, the Middle East and Europe. She primarily reported for the network's affiliates, but also contributed to "Good Morning America," "World News Weekend" and ABC Radio. Her experience also includes jobs as a general assignment reporter for WTVG-ABC, an ABC-owned station in Toledo, Ohio from 1997-2000, an ABC News off-air reporter in Los Angeles, and an associate producer in New York City.

Udoji has covered significant events both in the United States and abroad, including the war in Iraq from Qatar and Iraq, the war in Afghanistan from Pakistan, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict from Israel and Jordan, Pope John Paul II from the Vatican City and several international sporting events. She has also covered the 1996 presidential campaign, the crash of TWA flight 800 over New York and the O.J. Simpson criminal and civil trials.

She was part of the team that won a Cine Eagle award for an ABC prime-time documentary about death row in 1997. The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences cited her for her coverage of the War in Afghanistan.

Udoji earned her bachelor's degree in political science and sociology from the University of Michigan and her law degree from UCLA School of Law. She lives in New York City.
