Student-Descendant of Beethoven Bucks Downward Trend in Classical Music by Introducing Newsletter

NEW YORK, March 23 /PRNewswire/ -- At a time when interest in classical music is reportedly waning, a man with a connection to Beethoven is fighting back -- by launching a newsletter devoted to classical music.

The publication is called "Classical Music Today -- the newsletter for listeners" and is distributed only via conventional mail. It is a source for inside information, celebrity news, who's who, music festivals, trends, concert reviews, behind-the-scene happenings, new recordings, orchestra news, new works, profiles of present day composers and conductors, and more -- all national in scope. More information is available at http://www.classicalmusictoday.com/ .

The force behind the launch is Robert Ardini, a Juilliard-trained musician whose training can be traced back to Beethoven. Ardini studied piano with Kovalik who studied it with Kraus who studied it with Schnabel who studied it with Leschetizky who studied it with Czerny who studied it with Beethoven.

The newsletter will be published quarterly and will not be made available online. According to Ardini, "Internet subscriptions work well for some publications, but I want to offer people something they can throw in their briefcase, purse or pocket and have an enjoyable read when they have some down time."

The Premiere Issue is being published in early Spring. Annual subscriptions are $30 and can now be reserved. Checks only, payable to Classical Music Today, 331 West 57th Street, #541, New York, NY 10019. Gift subscriptions should indicate if the announcement is to be mailed to the presenter or recipient.
