Packing the most comprehensive implementation of the AVC toolkit into a single standard rack unit (1RU), the ME1001 delivers sophisticated Constrained Fidelity Constant Bit Rate (CF CBR) that maximizes bandwidth efficiency and introduces new features to enhance IPTV services including the first embedded low resolution proxy solution for enabling Picture-in-Picture (PIP) for Microsoft TV and Electronic Program Guide (EPG) applications.

The ME1001 standard definition encoder from Modulus Video is a full resolution MPEG-4 AVC video encoder with support for Main Profile video encoding at Level 3. Delivering rich quality video at around half the bandwidth of traditional MPEG-2, the ME1001 provides selectable support for advanced features such as CABAC entropy coding, macro block adaptive field frame coding, weighted prediction and de-blocking filter. Optional Motion Compensated Temporal Filtering (MCTF) significantly increases video quality by reducing random noise without incurring motion blur.
