Baseball fans across the country can tune into XM Satellite Radio and hear the live White Sox home team radio broadcast from WSCR-Chicago. Veteran radio announcer and former All-Star pitcher Ed Farmer will deliver play-by-play, with former White sox outfielder Chris Singleton providing color commentary.

XM's 24-hour baseball talk radio channel MLB Home Plate (XM channel 175) will also be on site at U.S. Cellular Field on Opening Night with pre- and post-game interviews and analysis.

A full slate of Opening Day games follows on April 3, starting with the New York Mets hosting the Washington Nationals at Shea Stadium at 1:10 pm ET (XM channel 183). MLB games are carried live on XM channels 176 through 189, with Spanish play-by-play and call-in shows on MLB En Espanol (XM channel 190). The lineup of game broadcasts on XM is available online at http://mlb.xmradio.com/.

The newest member of XM's broadcast family is Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz. "Big Papi" will make regular, weekly appearances on both the MLB Home Plate channel and MLB En Espanol on XM starting the week of April 2.

"I'm excited about joining XM Satellite Radio, because this is an amazing opportunity to talk about the game I love -- reaching audiences in both English and my own native language of Spanish," Ortiz said.

2006 marks the second year of an eleven-year broadcast and marketing agreement between Major League Baseball and XM, the official satellite radio network of MLB.

"Major League Baseball is the premier radio sport, and with XM, you can hear every team, all season long, from the first pitch on Opening Night to the final play of the World Series," said Eric Logan, executive vice president of programming, XM Satellite Radio. "Baseball fans have grown up listening to games on the radio, and now we can hear games from all across the country on XM radios, whether we're in the car, at home, or at the ballpark. MLB is a huge hit on XM, and that has helped make us the number-one satellite radio company with more than 6 million subscribers."
