Joe Nichols' CD "III" Has Been Certified Gold by the RIAA

Universal South Artist Celebrates His Second Gold Album

NASHVILLE, Tenn., March 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Joe Nichols' CD, III, has been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America, as announced today by Universal Records South's Senior Partners Tim DuBois and Tony Brown. The distinction marks more than 500,000 in sales and is the artist's second gold CD (Man With A Memory, Nichols' debut CD, was certified gold in 2003 and is nearing the platinum mark). Earlier this month, the lead single from III, "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off," was certified gold for digital downloads in excess of 100,000. That single also topped the Country Singles Chart late last year and was named one of Rolling Stone Magazine's Top 10 Country Singles of 2005.

"In my opinion, there is no better young singer making records today. In the hands of an artist like Joe Nichols, a really good country song becomes a great country record," Brown said.

DuBois added, "The fact that this CD has been certified gold based on one single record's airplay is testament to the strength of Joe Nichols and his music."

The artist's second single from III, titled "Size Matters (Someday)," is already a Top 20 hit, and rapidly climbing the charts. Nichols debuted on the country music scene four years ago with the critically acclaimed CD, Man With A Memory, a recording that earned him the CMA Horizon Award, the ACM Top New Male Vocalist honor, three Grammy nominations, two back-to-back multi week #1 singles and a gold album. He is currently on tour with Toby Keith.
