Sinclair Closes on Sale of WEMT-TV in Tri-Cities
BALTIMORE, Feb. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:SBGI) announced that it has closed on its previously announced sale of WEMT-TV (FOX 39) in the Tri-Cities market (Bristol, VA, Bristol, TN, Johnson City, TN, Kingsport, TN) to Aurora Broadcasting, Inc. In May 2005, the Company announced that it had entered into an agreement to sell the station for $7.0 million. Of the $7.0 million sales price, $5.6 million for the sale of the non-license assets closed in May 2005 to BlueStone Television Inc., who has been operating the station pursuant to a joint sales and shared services agreement, pursuant to which BlueStone provides certain non- programming related sales, operational and administrative services to WEMT-TV. The remaining $1.4 million sales price for the license assets, which was subject to the Federal Communications Commission's approval, closed and funded today to Aurora Broadcasting, Inc.
