Local Girl Scout Chorus to Preview Song to Debut in Dove Self-Esteem Ad Airing During the Super Bowl
Dove(R) and Girls Scouts of the USA Partner to Help Girls Build Self-Esteem
WHAT: Millions of Americans watching the Super Bowl this Sunday will
witness the premiere of a unique, non-traditional and thought-
provoking ad to launch the next phase of the Dove Campaign for Real
Beauty. The 45-second spot airing during the second quarter of
Super Bowl XL draws attention to the issue of self-esteem and how
adults can make a difference in the way girls feel about
themselves. The ad features the voices of the Girl Scouts of
Nassau County Chorus from Long Island, New York.
EVENT OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE:
* Girl Scouts of Nassau County Chorus Performing "True Colors"
* Preview of Dove Self-Esteem Ad - this will be the first time the
chorus views the complete commercial
* Interviews with Girl Scouts about their role in a Super Bowl ad and
with Girl Scout leaders about why reaching society with messages
about self-esteem is critical
* Broll including behind-the -scenes of recording the music for this ad
and a "sneak preview" of the ad will be available
WHY: Too many girls develop low self-esteem from insecurities about their
looks and consequently fail to reach their full potential in later
life. The spot premiere kicks off the next phase of the Dove
Campaign for Real Beauty -- focusing on "walking the talk" --
through the Dove Self-Esteem Fund, which was developed to help raise
self- esteem in girls and young women. In the United States, the
Fund supports uniquely ME!, a partnership program with Girl Scouts
of the USA that fosters self-esteem among girls ages 8 to 17 through
educational resources and hands-on activities.
