Interactive Television Networks to Provide Access to Over 1,200 Radio Stations
ITVN Radio Will Enable Subscribers to Listen to More Than 1,200 Radio Stations From Over 80 Countries
IRVINE, Calif., Feb. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Interactive Television Networks, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: ITTV.OB - News) (ITVN), a leader in Internet Protocol Television (IPTV), today announced the launch of ITVN Radio which will offer subscribers access to more than 1,200 radio stations from over 80 countries.
"We are excited to now offer a large number of radio stations from across the nation and around the world as an addition to our broadband delivered television networks," said Charles Prast, CEO of ITVN. "We believe the television remains the entertainment center of the home. Now, instead of listening to their favorite stations on their PC, ITVN subscribers can enjoy and manage this experience through their TV and any nearby stereo system in full digital quality."
ITVN Radio will allow users to search for radio stations available over the Internet by genre, state, country or name. Users can also store their favorite stations in a personalized tuner.
Music and news stations from across the world will be available on ITVN Radio, making it especially attractive to foreign language speaking households who want to stay current on the sounds and news from their homeland.
Beginning in March, ITVN Radio will be included in the Budget Bundle of programming which includes the Silver Screen Network and a growing number of linear TV channels. This programming bundle is priced at only $4.95 per month with no minimum subscription.
What is IPTV?
IPTV is broadcast-quality television delivered over standard home broadband Internet. While offering the same quality as satellite or cable, IPTV has many advantages, such as virtually limitless programming and on-demand content because only channels selected by consumers are delivered over home broadband networks. All content-including HDTV-can be distributed on a subscription or pay-per-view basis with content promotion integrated into the user experience. Best of all, IPTV offers true interactivity for the customer, allowing two-way communication with services comparable to the Web, creating a better environment for users, programmers and advertisers.
About ITVN
ITVN manufactures a low-cost, compact set-top-box that links the home television to IPTV networks and services without the need for a personal computer. In addition, ITVN is a provider of proprietary interactive content networks delivered to the television over home broadband. ITVN owns or controls all aspects of its business from content licenses, management, billing, and streaming software to its low-cost compact set-top-box.
ITVN is making IPTV relevant to the everyday consumer by offering a growing number of niche-market networks while keeping the service affordable. Current and future networks include movie channels, music channels, news channels, and many other options where the overall viewing environment is enhanced by ITVN's true interactivity.
In October of 2005, ITVN was named the "Innovator of the Year" at DigitalLife, a three-day consumer event produced by Ziff Davis Media. For more information please visit http://www.itvn.com/ .
