Hollywood's El Capitan Theatre Offers Moviegoers a Howling Good Time With Special Engagement of Disney's 'The Shaggy Dog'

From March 10th Through April 13th; Live Appearance by Dog Star at Each Show

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Hollywood's El Capitan Theatre is putting on the dog for its special engagement of Walt Disney Pictures' howl-arious new comedy, "The Shaggy Dog," between March 10th and April 13th, with a special live appearance before each show by the film's canine star, it was announced today (2/24) by Lylle Breier, senior vice president of worldwide special events for Buena Vista Pictures Distribution. Audiences will have a unique opportunity to see Shaggy perform spectacular tricks live on stage before each show. The film, which features Tim Allen as the hapless family dad who is transformed into the family dog, is an update of the Disney comedy classic. Kristin Davis, Robert Downey Jr., Danny Glover, Spencer Breslin, and Philip Baker Hall also star. Tickets for this special engagement of "The Shaggy Dog" can be purchased at the boxoffice, on line at www.elcapitantickets.com , or by calling 1-800-DISNEY6. Group rate tickets are also available for parties of 20 or more.

Commenting on the announcement, Breier said, "'The Shaggy Dog' is a real treat for the entire family, and the El Capitan Theatre is adding to the fun with this special opportunity to meet the film's four-legged star. We know that audiences are going to love seeing Shaggy live on stage, and watching him perform some of his spectacular tricks. When it comes to showmanship and giving our customers extra value, we always try to be the 'top dog,' but this engagement gives us a real leg up."

Directed by Brian Robbins, "The Shaggy Dog" begins when workaholic Deputy D.A. Dave Douglas (Tim Allen) takes on a case involving an animal laboratory -- one that will take him away yet again from his wife (Kristin Davis) and kids (Zena Grey and Spencer Breslin), who already yearn for his all-too-distracted attention. But when Dave is accidentally infected with a top-secret, genetic-mutation serum, everything he thought he knew about being himself and his family changes. Yet with his newly perked-up ears, and his front-row seat on the household carpet, Dave is able to gain a whole new perspective into his family's secrets and dreams. Now, he wants nothing more than to stop fetching and return to fathering -- only first he'll have to stop the evil forces behind the serum ... in an adventure that will bring the whole family together.
