Motown R&B Star KEM Nominated for Two NAACP Image Awards

Chart Topping Singer to Perform at Super Bowl Festivities in Celebration of Super Bowl XL

'Find Your Way Tour' Kicks Off on February 9

NEW YORK, Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Motown Records' rising superstar KEM is kicking off the new year with a bang -- garnering accolades and two prestigious 2006 NAACP Image Award nominations for Outstanding Male Artist and Outstanding Song for his record breaking hit "I Can't Stop Loving You;" He has also been chosen as a featured performer for a series of live performances surrounding festivities for Super Bowl XL, which is to be held in his hometown of Detroit.

The charismatic singer/songwriter virtually owned the #1 spot on the Urban AC and R&B Adult Monitor charts this past year with the sizzling first single from his gold-plus, Top 5 debuting CD KEM Album II. The talented musician topped both charts for 7 consecutive weeks, the longest streak in both formats for any artist in 2005. The phenomenal run snared KEM an Adult R&B Artist Of The Year nod from radio trade tome R&R magazine, as well as a Song Of The Year nomination for "I Can't Stop Loving You," from Billboard Magazine.

The multi-talented performer will also be hitting the road on a seven week 'Find Your Way' Tour, named after his current hit single. The tour kicks off on February 9th in Richmond Va. KEM completed a highly successful tour this past summer in support of his hit album, and most recently released a special repackaged, dual CD/DVD offering which includes the album KEM Album II and a rare DVD featuring, among other highlights, live concert footage from KEM's acclaimed homecoming concert in Detroit, as well as rare behind the scenes footage, bonus interviews, and an international remix of KEM's worldwide, chart topping single.

KEM's Superbowl participation includes a role as a headlining artist in Motown's Winter Blast, an integral part of the motor city's week long celebration of the 40th Super Bowl, featuring a unique combination of family oriented events and outdoor concerts, kicking off on February 2nd, and running through February 5th.

Most recently, KEM has focused on acting and soundtrack forays, landing a track on the new Tyler Perry movie Madea's Family Reunion, delivering the stunning song, "Tonight." KEM has also been invited to perform at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival, which kicks off on January 19th.

Although the Detroit native rose to national attention with his poignant love songs, his personal story is one of victory and triumph: KEM was once homeless, struggling to support himself and his family by waiting tables and singing Top 40 cover songs for weddings. Once he got on his feet, he independently financed and released his first album before signing with Motown Records in 2002.

The two NAACP Image Award nods are a first for KEM. The 37th Annual NAACP Image Awards, for achievements by African Americans in movies, television, music and literature will be presented on February 25th in Los Angeles, with the ceremony airing on Fox on March 3rd.
