Comcast Launches KTVT - CBS 11 News ON DEMAND

Customers Can Now Access Local Programming 24 Hours a Day from KTVT - CBS 11 and KTXA - UPN 21

IRVING, Texas, Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast and KTVT (CBS 11) today announced a partnership in Dallas to launch KTVT's news programs ON DEMAND throughout the Dallas metro area beginning Tuesday, January 17, 2006. Comcast Dallas is one of a handful of markets in the country to offer news broadcasts on their ON DEMAND Digital Cable service.

Comcast Digital Cable customers will now be able to access news and other local programming from KTVT CBS 11 and sister station KTXA-TV (UPN 21) 24 hours a day at their convenience.

The newscasts from KTVT CBS 11 ON DEMAND are the first local broadcast news programming to become available exclusively to Comcast Digital Cable customers in Dallas, Tarrant, Collin and Denton counties. Each news segment will be available to customers ON DEMAND for no additional charge approximately 30 minutes after it airs live.

"By having news broadcasts from KTVT CBS 11 available ON DEMAND, Comcast can deliver local news and information to our customers in a format that is convenient and easy for them to access," said Troy Fitzhugh, Vice President of Comcast's Dallas system. "The CBS 11 newscasts are just another example of Comcast's commitment to local programming. First we offered the Cowboys ON DEMAND, then the Mavericks and Stars, and now we offer important local news all at the fingertips of our customers. It's television on your terms."

Dallas customers have already taken to the ON DEMAND feature. In 2005, customers viewed more than 40 million ON DEMAND programs.
