Second Album from the R&B/Pop Superstar Achieves Milestone to Cap Eventful Year

Frankie J Returning to the Studio to Finish UN NUEVO DIA, a Spanish-Language Album Due April 4

NEW YORK, Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Christmas came early for Frankie J whose second album, The One, was certified platinum in late December by the RIAA while he was finishing a successful sold-out winter and summer tour. After spending the holidays with his family in San Diego, California, Frankie returned to the stage for a triumphant performance at Madison Square Garden and appearances on the American Music Awards and Radio Music Awards shows.

After ending the year with a bang, Frankie says he hasn't had time to savor his recent successes. "It was nice to be home for the holidays and relax with family and share the moment with them, but I still need to get together with my friends to celebrate. I have a show coming up before the NBA All-Star Game in February. We'll probably meet up in Houston -- my home state, catch some of the game and then see what kind of trouble we can get into."

After a short break, Frankie will return to the studio this month to put the finishing touches on his Spanish-language album, Un Nuevo Dia, which is due to be released on April 4. Featuring different styles of music like R&B, pop, rock and ballads sung in Spanish, Frankie says Un Nuevo Dia is a return to not only his Latin heritage but also his musical roots. "I was brought up listening to all kinds of music and this album shows that I'm at home singing anything. This album is me being who I am."

Frankie will launch a spring tour to support Un Nuevo Dia before jumping back into the studio to record the English-language follow-up to The One -- his second album featuring the hit singles "Obsession (No Es Amor)," "How To Deal," the title track and the DualDisc-only track, a cover of Extreme's hit "More Than Words."

Due out this fall, Frankie is already at work on this third album and says he is ready for the challenges of following the popularity of The One. "It's an exciting time for me because a lot of people are waiting to see what I do next. Now is the time for me to show everyone what I can do."

Frankie was also honored by Southwest High School for the 2006 Sweetwater Union High School District Hall of Fame, his high school alma mater in San Diego. In addition to being named to the school's hall of fame, Frankie also served as the Grand Marshal for the school's homecoming this fall. "My music career really started at that school when I would sing at lunch time for anyone who would listen," he recalls. "I've come so far since then and it meant a lot to me to be recognized by my old school and have the opportunity to go back and meet with some of my old teachers and talk to some of the students."
