Audiovox Launches another First in Its Advent Line of New Car Dealer Mobile Video Systems

'Adaptiv TV' is the first line to offer a one box solution to answer vehicle-specific needs'

LAS VEGAS, and HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., Jan. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- LAS VEGAS CONVENTION CENTER, 2006 CES, Audiovox Booth 11006-10506 -- Fresh off winning the CEA Innovations Honoree Award for its Advent Double Drop-Down Overhead Mobile Video System, Audiovox Corporation (NASDAQ:VOXX) has introduced Adaptiv TV from Advent. Adaptiv TV is a one-box mobile video overhead solution designed to maximize vehicle-specific product offerings while at the same time, minimize the dealer's inventory carry.

The Adaptive TV systems come complete with both pewter and shale trim bezels to match most factory interiors. With it, dealers do not need to stock two SKUs of every screen size, thus reducing the inventory carry necessary to match most vehicle interiors. In addition, the program is fully customizable with a variety of optional trim bezels in wood grain, carbon fiber, and metallic paint finishes, all designed to match the OE cosmetics of virtually every vehicle available today. Dealers need only to stock the far less expensive plastics to match the OE looks on their showroom floors.

Adaptive TV systems come in three screen sizes, 8.5 inch, 10 inch and 12 inch and every system includes built in DVD players, two trim rings, mounting bracket and hardware, wireless headphones, wireless game controller, remote control and wireless FM Modulator.

Brand new features include a "Pause to Talk" button, backlit controls for loading the DVD at night, and a wireless game controller with 51 Sega games. A Plug-in TV Tuner and antenna are available as optional accessories.

Making the announcement, Tom Malone, Senior VP Sales said, "Car dealers everywhere have benefited from the Advent Advantage with its Exclusive New Car Dealer Line, National Travelers Warranty Program featuring up to 4-year warranty on certain products and now we add Adaptive TV to the product mix. These units have been designed with a smaller footprint to answer the consumer trend away from the big SUVs and to passenger and the new smaller crossover vehicles."

The new models all feature shale and pewter trim bezels to enhance the vehicle's interior with an OE look.

* ADV85 - 8.5-inch monitor with built-in DVD player. MSRP: $1149
* ADV102 - 10.2-inch monitor with built-in DVD player. MSRP: $1299
* ADV122 - 12.2-inch monitor with built-in DVD player. MSRP: $1599

Malone further stated, "The real twist to this product line up, is the optional 'shell products' that will be available in enough custom finishes to match virtually every vehicle interior, including the specific wood grains and carbon fiber. The car dealer has different challenges than the retail market and with this new line of products; car dealers will not have to compete against retailers. What's more they get the maximum amount of 'customization' to achieve the factory look with the minimum number of SKUs, thus reducing their inventory carry and adding to profitability."
