Top Holiday Movie Rentals Show America Loves to Laugh the Holidays Away
When Americans watch holiday movies, they love to laugh and be jolly. Comedies are overwhelmingly the top rental choice among holiday-themed films by Blockbuster members. Laughter is a great way to alleviate some of today's seasonal pressures and to get in the holiday spirit. According to a Blockbuster survey, 80 percent of respondents said movies are a great way to relax from the stress of the holidays. Sixty-eight percent said movies get their family in the holiday mood. The only non-comedy choice by Blockbuster members was "It's A Wonderful Life."

AAA Expects 1.7 Percent Increase in Christmas-New Year's Travel
Americans will travel in potentially record-high numbers this Christmas- New Year's holiday, despite travel costs that are up nearly across the board. Triple 'A' estimates that 63 point 50 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home this holiday, a one point seven percent increase from last year's 62 point 42 million travelers.
