AtomShockwave Launches New Online Directory of the Web's Most Entertaining Video

AtomShockwave Launches New Online Directory of the Web's Most Entertaining Video

Producers of AtomFilms Unveil New AddictingClips Site that Filters, Searches and Sorts Broad Array of Online Video Entertainment

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- AtomShockwave Corp., the online entertainment pioneer that also operates award-winning AtomFilms(R) and Shockwave.com(TM), announced it has expanded its online entertainment presence with the launch of a new video directory, AddictingClips(TM) (www.addictingclips.com). The site is designed to help viewers sift through the mountain of online videos to find the best and most entertaining content on the Web. AXE has signed on as the launch sponsor for the AddictingClips site.

"Massive amounts of video content are now available online, but consumers are having trouble sorting through the quantity of new programming," said Mika Salmi, CEO of AtomShockwave. "AddictingClips fills a consumer need for one useful resource to browse, search, submit and discover the best video entertainment from around the Web."

The AddictingClips directory launched with more than 1,000 videos and is paired with a video search engine, making the site a powerful tool that enables viewers to easily unearth the Web's most entertaining and hilarious clips. Videos from a wide variety of sites have been organized and categorized into a simple browsable directory representing the best video on the web. The site is updated daily based on user-submitted content recommendations, search data and content selected by the AtomFilms programming team.

Today's launch of AddictingClips further extends AtomShockwave's menu for "Entertainment Snacking(TM)" -- short content that consumers can easily access, view or play. AddictingClips will be a companion site to AddictingGames.com, the heavily trafficked directory of online games that was acquired by AtomShockwave in November. Both sites are elements of AtomShockwave's plans to extend its footprint across the Web, and deliver the best short-form online entertainment.

AddictingClips Content:

The AddictingClips directory offers viewers a broad array of videos in 18 categories. Highlights include:

-- Sports: A skateboarder lands a jump over 2 flights of stairs! A surfer
does his thing during a hurricane!
-- Spoofs: Hilarious shorts featuring parodies of well-known stars
-- Caught on Tape: A volcano erupts in Japan, and helmet cams show mayhem
in Iraq
-- Video Games: Guy beats well known video game in under 5 minutes!
Another guy goes berserk after playing a massive multiplayer game.
-- TV: Outtakes, bloopers, and classic moments from dozens of shows
-- Movies: Trailers from the hottest upcoming releases
-- Animals: A giant octopus takes on a diver! A bulldog rides a
skateboard!
-- Sexy: Women wrestlers face off in a lingerie store

Axe comes on board as launch Sponsor

"Axe chose to partner with AtomShockwave for the AddictingClips launch because we view this directory as another example of providing consumers with one destination to find some of the best entertainment on the Web," said Kevin George, Brand Marketing Manager, AP/Deo USA at Unilever. "AtomShockwave has a long-standing history of delivering strong online entertainment to consumers through AtomFilms, Shockwave.com and more recently AddictingGames. Axe wants to be where our consumers are across the Web."
