Statement of CPB President and CEO Patricia Harrison
WASHINGTON, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- CPB President and CEO Patricia Harrison today applauded the actions of CPB's board of directors in establishing a new framework for governance, accountability, and transparency at the corporation.
"The board's adoption of these reforms is a signal event in the corporation's history and good news for the long-term health and well-being of public broadcasting," she said.
Harrison also expressed appreciation for the board's support. "I am grateful for the board's confidence in my leadership, and I look forward to working with the entire board and CPB staff as we move forward on public broadcasting's broad agenda -- reaching toward diversity, excellence, balance and objectivity, and creativity; addressing the needs of unserved and underserved audiences, and meeting the challenges of rapidly evolving technology."
"Every organization can grow and improve, and CPB is no exception. The steps taken by the board will make CPB a better organization, and the beneficiary will be the millions of Americans who watch and listen to public broadcasting. I am proud and excited to be leading CPB into this new era."
