Frank Vascellaro to Leave KARE 11

MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- KARE 11 News anchor Frank Vascellaro is leaving the local NBC affiliate. For the past two years he has co-anchored KARE 11 News programs at 5, 6 and 10 p.m. Previously, he co-anchored weekday and Saturday morning news programs at KARE 11.

"Frank's contributions have been great," said John Remes, president and general manager of KARE 11. "He added value to KARE. I have nothing but respect for Frank and we're sorry to see him go."

Vascellaro came to KARE 11 from WHOI-TV in Peoria, Illinois in 1996. He has been involved in community projects since he arrived; most notably, the Cancer Kids Fund, the Crisis Nursery and the Minnesota Children's Museum among many other organizations.

"I'm looking forward to spending time at home with my three young children as I explore other opportunities in the future," Vascellaro said. "It has been a great nine years. I've had the pleasure of working with some of the most talented people in local television news."

"It's tough to say good-bye to friends," said Tom Lindner, vice president news director at KARE 11, "especially ones with Frank's dedication and talent. We're thankful for everything he has contributed to KARE 11 News."

Vascellaro will continue to anchor KARE 11 News at 5, 6, and 10 through December 9th.
