About The Prilosec OTC Burning to Sing Your Heart Out Contest

The contest challenged consumers to come up with original lyrics for a song about heartburn -- either the medical condition or an emotional state that made their heart burn. The grand prizewinner was chosen by a combination of contest judges and online consumer votes. The panel of contest judges included Phil Vassar, Charlie Daniels, and Allison Jones, Vice President A&R Universal Music Group. After the panel of judges narrowed down the entries, the three finalists' entries were posted on the official contest website, www.PrilosecOTCcountry.com, so consumers could vote for their favorite finalist. Additionally, each consumer who cast a vote was entered into a sweepstakes for the chance to win an all-expense paid trip to the 2006 CMA Awards, which will be held in Nashville, Tenn.

The Prilosec OTC Country Connection

The connection is frequent heartburn sufferers are often Country Music fans. A recent survey found that 38 percent of frequent heartburn sufferers choose Country as their top musical choice, versus only 24 percent of people who don't suffer from heartburn at all. In other words, adult frequent heartburn sufferers are 58 percent more likely to put country music at the top of their list than are adults who say they don't have heartburn. Prilosec OTC has developed a special website just for Country Music fans (www.prilosecOTCcountry.com), offering video exclusives and music downloads from Prilosec OTC fan and award winning singer/songwriter, Phil Vassar.
