Brandweek, the newsweekly of marketing, joined the research firm Brand Keys to recognize the leading brands that command the highest customer loyalty. Brand Keys interviewed 12,000 adult Americans to discover which of 222 brands in 35 categories -- from airlines to soft drinks to internet booksellers -- have earned the greatest loyalty among customers.

Brandweek and Brand Keys said the survey found that "XM best met or exceeded customer expectations" in the satellite radio brand category. "This translates directly to the most powerful brand equity and the highest degree of customer loyalty" for XM in the satellite radio category, they said.

"XM customers are incredibly passionate about the programming and products we offer, and our customers are some of our very best salespeople, so we work extraordinarily hard to satisfy them by delivering the richest variety of content and most advanced technology in satellite radio," said Hugh Panero, President and CEO of XM Satellite Radio.
