Opportunity for Singers, Dancers and Actors to Audition for Broadway's Famous Play 'Annie, the Musical'
MIAMI, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Miami-based Broadway Dance Corp. will give the opportunity to Miami-Dade and Broward amateur singers, dancers and actors to audition for one of Broadway's most acclaimed shows, "Annie, the Musical." The show will hit the Gusman Theater's stage on April 7-9, 2006, and will be presented a few days later at the Brickell Hyatt Ashe Auditorium.
Actors, dancers and singers are invited to audition for the following roles:
* Miss Hannigan: Must have an excellent sense of comic timing. Good
singing and acting. Key character of the play.
* Oliver Warbucks: Most challenging role in the show. Must be a good
singer and capable of showing emotional transformation and maturity.
* Grace Farrell: Warbuck's assistant, calm, cool, mature, classy,
sophisticated and businesslike. Must be a good singer and be able to do
standard dance.
* Mrs. Greer: Fastidious domestic help, proud, fun character, good singer.
* Rooster Hannigan: The bad guy of the play. Flashy, self-assured. Must be
good singer and actor, and be able to move well.
* Lily St. Regis: Rooster's girlfriend. The character is distracted, an
airhead, and a bit bumbling. Good singer and actress, moves well.
* Dancers and singers
Auditions will be held at the Key Biscayne Community Center the week of November 20-27.

Under the direction of award-winner Angelica Torres, the production will feature Broadway Annie's original costumes and backstage live orchestra and singing.

About Angelica Torres
Angelica Torres is the director of the Broadway Dance Program at the Key Biscayne Community Center. Angelica has extensive experience in musical theatre production that includes over 15 years directing and choreographing Broadway musicals such as "Cats," "Crazy for You" and "Beauty and the Beast."
The depth and breadth of her experience both on and behind the stage is significant, encompassing the technical aspects of tap, ballet, jazz, musical theatre, and acting as well as costume/set design, directing and producing.
Her work has been awarded several times, including Best Public Access Television Series (Westchester, NY) as well as numerous commendations for her significant contributions to the performing arts in the community.
