Oceanaire Chef Rick Kimmes Welcomes the 'Oyster King' Billy Marinelli

MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Oysters have a reputation for bringing people together -- but this time, it's professional. Chef Rick Kimmes welcomes renowned oyster purveyor Billy Marinelli of Marinelli Shellfish, heralded worldwide as the "King of Oysters". Tuesday, December 6th, 2005 Billy will be at the Oceanaire in Minneapolis, working behind the oyster bar and engaging guests to try new oysters. Come see the "Oyster King" himself!

Chef Kimmes and Billy Marinelli will also be conducting a demonstration for about 20 people at Coastal Seafoods Minneapolis location from 3:00pm - 5:00pm on Tuesday; they will be introducing other local chefs and oyster aficionados to the oyster kingdom that Marinelli represents.

As executive chef at one of Minnesota's busiest restaurants, Rick Kimmes orchestrates the total dining experience that The Oceanaire Seafood Room delivers daily. Bringing diners back to the retro era of the 1930's, Rick ensures that all culinary desires are filled.

As Executive Chef of The Oceanaire Seafood Room, Rick's responsibilities include creating preparations for ever-changing daily specials. Based on the fresh fish he has obtained, Rick creates a new menu daily, offering contemporary preparations such as Pan-Braised Monkfish with Thai Red Curry alongside retro favorites, like Shrimp de Jonghe, Clams Casino and Baked Alaska.

The Oceanaire Seafood Room, located at 1300 Nicollet Mall (in the Hyatt Regency Center) in downtown Minneapolis, opened its doors in November 1998. The Oceanaire changes their menu daily to reflect the absolute freshest seafood the world has to offer. The big band music and oversized horseshoe booths recreate the sophisticated swankiness of a 1930s ocean liner: It's the perfect setting for sipping a classic cocktail, indulging in a Dungeness Crab or sampling some of the day's fresh oyster selection. In addition, they offer an award-winning wine list featuring over 200 selections.

The Oceanaire Seafood Room serves dinner Sunday - Thursday from 5:00pm- 10:00pm, and Friday and Saturday from 5:00pm -11:00pm. For more information about The Oceanaire Seafood Room, or to make reservations, call (612) 333-BASS.
