Exclusive Clue Revealed on November 19 Followed by Three Additional Clues Leading to the 14th Token
ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Nov. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- The hunt continues on Starz following an awe-inspiring announcement made by Michael Stadther, author of the bestselling book "A Treasure's Trove," November 19 during the "Trio of Treasures." Following the Starz Saturday premiere of "National Treasure" Stadther revealed an exclusive clue to Starz viewers that could lead them to the 14th token and disclosed a $10,000 cash incentive if someone solves the clue and finds the treasure on or before December 18. Stadther also publicized the fact that he will appear on Starz every week for the next three weeks following the Starz Saturday premieres at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT) to reveal more information exclusively to Starz viewers that could lead to discovery of the 14th token.
"The secret incentive revealed as part of 'Trio of Treasures' is meant to build the excitement for both experienced and novice 'trovers' on this exciting hunt," said Michael Stadther. "Viewers can watch the Starz Saturday premieres and then get ready for their own adventure of a lifetime. It's a fun and challenging pursuit for the entire family and a fabulous promotion, full of excitement and exploration for anyone who has ever dreamed of finding real treasure."
Clues to find the tokens are cleverly hidden in the pages of "A Treasure's Trove." For the first time, Stadther is revealing clues in partnership with Starz during its "Trio of Treasures" promotion. For the additional clues, tune in for the next three Saturdays at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on Starz beginning with "The Aviator" on December 3, "Are We There Yet?" on December 10 and "Hitch" on December 17. After the initial airing of each clue, they are available exclusively on www.starz.com for 24-hours before being posted on www.atreasurestrove.com.
"Movies are an experience in living and this partnership with 'A Treasure's Trove' brings the thrill of a treasure hunt to life for millions of Starz viewers," said David Charmatz, senior vice president of channel management for Starz Entertainment Group (SEG).
Stadther's enchanting, classic fairy tale, "A Treasure's Trove," was first published in November 2004 and quickly made the nation's bestseller lists. At the book's initial release, Stadther announced that he had hidden 12 gold tokens, each one redeemable for a valuable jewel fashioned after the book's Forest Creatures, in locations throughout the continental United States. In February 2004 the book's fans learned that there were not 12, but 13 tokens waiting to be found. In September Stadther announced that he had hidden a 14th token, representative of his book's villain Rusful, Master of the Darklings. The collective value of the jewels the 14 tokens represent is over $1 million.
The "Trio of Treasures" began Saturday, November 19 with the Starz Saturday premiere of "National Treasure." The hunt continued when Stadther revealed a new clue on-air exclusively for Starz viewers that could lead someone to the 14th token. At this time the 14th jewel (an uncut black diamond worth thousands of dollars) was unveiled and displayed with the other 13 for the first time together, and Stadther provided viewers with the $10,000 cash incentive. The third aspect of the promotion is the online "Trio of Treasures" virtual maze, which is found on www.starz.com.
Rules and regulations for "A Treasure's Trove" hunt can be found on www.atreasurestrove.com and in the book.
