FOX 2's Sherry Margolis and Kam Carman Help Metro Detroiters Make a 'Holiday Connection' in a 1-Hour Thanksgiving Special
FOX 2 Problem Solvers, Gardner White Furniture and United Way Community Services Work Together to Grant Holiday Wishes for the Fifth Consecutive Year
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Nov. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Wet, slushy weather may be on the way, but it can't dampen the holiday spirit of the FOX 2 Problem Solvers and other Metro Detroiters -- as viewers will discover during HOLIDAY CONNECTION, a one-hour special, hosted by Sherry Margolis and Kam Carman, that will air twice Thanksgiving Day -- at 8:00 AM, and again at 5:00 PM, in place of our regular newscasts. A half-hour version of HOLIDAY CONNECTION also airs Thanksgiving morning at 10:30, followed by encore presentations on Saturday, November 26 at 6:30 PM, AND Sunday, November 27 at 10:30 PM.
Viewers will be treated to the inspirational, uplifting tales of remarkable people -- maybe even their neighbors and friends -- who, despite the many needs met following the hurricane tragedies and the tsunami, still found a way to keep the holiday spirit alive by opening their hearts, instead of their wallets. They'll also hear about the ways that they, too, can become part of the solution and make their own "holiday connection" to those in need.
This special was inspired by "Holiday Connection: United Way Wish List" -- a book full of "wishes" from the hundreds of non-profit organizations that help Metro Detroiters in need. Holiday Connection wish books are available at area Gardner White furniture stores, by calling United Way's Tel-Help hotline at (313) 226-9442 or on the web at http://www.fox2detroit.com/ ; just click on the "Holiday Connection" link.
