Final Call for Entries for the 2005 Southam Awards Competition for Excellence in Sailing Communications: $11,000 Up for Grabs!

MIDDLETOWN, R.I., Nov. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Sail America, the U.S. sailing trade association, is issuing a "last reminder call" for its 2005 John Southam Awards for Excellence in Sailing Communications, with $11,000 in cash prizes slated for winning journalists.

Now in its twelfth year, the Southam competition offers a $5,000 grand prize and crystal cup, along with six additional judging categories with $1,000 prizes each, including newspapers under 100,000 circulation; newspapers over 100,000 circulation; magazine; adventure; electronic/broadcast; expanded outlets (web/books/documentary films) and the columns category.

Entries must be published or produced in 2005, and submitted no later than the December 22, 2005 deadline.
