Canada's Brian Diesbourg Kicks $1 Million Field Goal

During Wendy's CFL Halftime Show on TSN

TORONTO, Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Brian Diesbourg, a 25-year old mechanical engineer and avid soccer player, has become Canada's next million-dollar athlete by successfully kicking a 50-yard field goal - worth $1 million - as part of the Wendy's Kick for a Million promotion. The event was televised live on TSN (The Sports Network) last night (October 27) at halftime, during the network's Canadian Football League (CFL) broadcast featuring Hamilton Tiger-Cats @ Toronto Argonauts.

"I still can't believe I made the kick. I have never been so nervous, but I knew I had to stay focused on the uprights," said Diesbourg. "This truly is the TSN Turning Point of my life!"

Diesbourg, who hails from Belle River in Ontario, attempted field goals ranging in distance from 20 to 50 yards, with lucrative prizes awarded for each successful kick. After Diesbourg barely missed splitting the uprights at the 20, 30 and 40-yard lines and with the pressure on, he calmly stepped up and made no mistake, successfully kicking from the 50-yard line for the grand prize of $1 million.
