WABC Television Among $3 Million in New Contracts for WPCS

EXTON, Pa., Aug. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- WPCS International Incorporated (NASDAQ:WPCS) (WPCS), a leader in wireless infrastructure services and specialty communication systems, has announced that it has recently been awarded a variety of new contracts totaling $3 million for wireless infrastructure services and specialty communication systems. Among the new contracts awarded to WPCS and its subsidiaries are projects to be completed for WABC Television, ASTI Transportation, Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority, General Services Administration, Hillsborough Board of Fire Commissioners, the Monmouth County Police Department and the Fresno, San Jose and Bakersfield Post Offices in California.

Included in these awards was a contract for WPCS, through its Quality Communications subsidiary, to design and install a wireless automatic vehicle locator (AVL) network for WABC Television. This project will provide the news station at WABC the enhanced ability to track their news vans to determine where they are in relation to a breaking story. The AVL tracking is done through a wireless signal carried by an antenna that is located on the van. Once installed, the system will not only allow the station to determine which news van is closest to the scene, but will also keep track of when the news van arrives to cover the story.
