The Artists: Multi-platinum, Massachusetts-based rock force Staind opens the book on a new phase of their musical journey with the August 9 release of their new CD "Chapter V." The band, whose last two albums peaked at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart, features singer/songwriter Aaron Lewis; band co-founder and guitarist Mike Mushok, bassist Johnny April and drummer Jon Wysocki.
The Scene: Staind is performing a free, unannounced-until-today "Fusion Flash Concert" for "insiders" registered on http://www.fusionflashconcert.com/ and the general public on a first-come, first-admitted "space available" basis.
Staind's show is the 4th of 10 nationwide. The Roots led off the series in New York July 14. Jermaine Dupri followed July 16 in Atlanta. Fat Joe hip hopped into Philadelphia July 20. Collective Soul will play in Dallas in late August at a secret location. The spontaneous series, interactive website and exclusive content is part of a national grassroots effort to amplify the street buzz surrounding the launch of the new 2006 Ford Fusion sedan.
Show Time: Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at City Hall Plaza. Staind will perform live on-stage, starting at approximately 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.
The Quote: "This is a very special day for us, due not only to the release of our new CD Chapter V but because we're honored to be a part of the Fusion Flash Concert series alongside 10 of America's most cutting edge artists. We make our music and do shows for our fans, and to us this concert series is all about giving back to them. The fact that each concert is a surprise for them makes our involvement even more meaningful to us."
