Prolong Sponsored Hot Rod a Real Hit on Popular Car Show

IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Prolong Super Lubricants, Inc., manufacturer and marketer of patented consumer automotive, commercial/industrial and household products and a wholly owned subsidiary of Prolong International Corporation (AMEX:PRL), (http://www.prolong.com/), announces that the radically modified 1956 Nash Metropolitan hot rod sponsored by the company and known as the "Metro-Nator" is being featured on multiple airings of the popular History Channel program, AUTOMANIAC, hosted by Bill Goldberg.

The colorful and powerful Metro-Nator and its owner/builder, Bryan Thatcher, command about a third of the show's "Ridiculously Large Engines" episode that originally aired the evening of August 3, 2005. Both Prolong and the show producers received positive feedback from viewers and the show is scheduled again to air multiple times including 11:00 p.m., EDT on Thursday, August 11. Regional times for the show are generally the same, but may vary and can be found in local listings for the History Channel.

Thatcher, a spokesperson and avid user of both Prolong's appearance and automotive lubricant products, provides a well-documented history of all he has done to his "rod" since paying $50 to bring the little worn out 45hp 1956 2-door hard top Nash home from the junk yard several years ago. He then gives a spectacular demonstration of what his Prolong-protected 1500 horsepower engine can do in a mock race against his host, Bill Goldberg, who is left in the dust, tooling along in an original unmodified Nash Metropolitan. The Metro-Nator can do a quarter mile in just 6 seconds at over 200-miles-per- hour.

"We are of course extremely pleased for Prolong to have this fantastic exposure on such a great show," exclaims Prolong President and CEO Elton Alderman, "especially because Bryan has put so much into making the Metro-Nator a winner. When it comes to that car, he doesn't mess around and it's gratifying to have him believe in and use our products before and beyond any sponsorship program. You know, the Metro-Nator is a lot like Prolong, a small entity with incredible power to offer!"

The promotional relationship between Prolong and Thatcher's Metro-Nator began in the fall of 2003, when the car received its now signature "flames" paint job in the eye-catching magenta, gold and dark blue Prolong colors and served as a show-stopper attraction in the Prolong booth at the automotive aftermarket's largest show, AAPEX/SEMA, in Las Vegas. It has continued as an effective extreme machine bill board appearing in over 100 of the top car shows nationally for the company, winning dozens of awards at shows and competitions including Best Competition Vehicle, Best Paint, Best Engine, Best of Show multiple times, and in January 2005, Best in Class with Outstanding Display Award for the Prolong display at the Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona, California. More information on Bryan and the Metro-Nator can be found on the Prolong Website.
