Official Statement From Bishop T.D. Jakes Regarding Peter Jennings' Passing

For more than four decades, Peter Jennings was one of our nation's most distinguished and widely respected journalists. From Berlin to Munich to the Soviet Union, his global acumen made him the quintessential news anchor for generations.

I, like many others, deeply admired his professionalism mixed with his compassionate disposition. A shining example of his approach to journalism is none more striking than his marathon anchoring during the September 11th tragedy.
