Long-time Scripps TV Exec to Lead KNXV in Phoenix

CINCINNATI, Aug. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Janice Todd, whose broadcast career with The E. W. Scripps Company began 20 years ago as an advertising sales executive in Tulsa, Okla., has been named vice president and general manager of KNXV-TV, the company's ABC-affiliated station in Phoenix.

Todd, 53, has served the past four months as acting general manager at KNXV.

"Phoenix is one of our largest markets and KNXV has grown to be fully competitive, as witnessed by its recent 46 regional Emmy nominations," said Bill Peterson, senior vice president/television station group for Scripps. "Janice will provide the intelligence, determination, leadership and stability that's needed for this ascending station to continue improving in the Phoenix market."

Todd joined Scripps in 1985 as an account executive at KJRH-TV, the company's NBC affiliated television station in Tulsa. She was named local sales manager at KJRH in 1989 and was promoted to general sales manager in 1994. She has been general sales manager at KNXV in Phoenix since 1999.

Todd's first job in broadcasting was at radio station KUAI-AM in Kauai, Hawaii. She joined KOKI-TV in Tulsa in 1982 after working three years at Tulsa's KMYO-FM.

She is a 1976 graduate of the University of Hawaii.
