BET to Announce Nominees for the 2005 BET COMEDY AWARDS on August 17th

WHAT: BET will again honor outstanding achievement in comedic
film, television and stand-up performance across 17
categories with the star-studded return of the BET COMEDY
AWARDS telecast from the Pasadena Civic Center. Veteran
comedian and actor Steve Harvey returns as host of the
show -- joined by the most hilarious entertainers in the
business, including Martin Lawrence, recipient of the 2005
BET Comedy Icon Award. The show format includes side
splitting on-stage routines and sketches, stand-up turns
by the industry's hottest comics and electrifying musical
performances. A media teleconference to announce this
year's nominees, confirmed show talent and discuss other
production plans will take place on Wednesday, August 17th
featuring show host Steve Harvey, BET executives and
several nominees.
